Overview

Ronchini is proud to host Comfort in Discomfort, the first UK solo exhibition of the Hong Kongese, British based painter Jade Ching-Yuk Ng.  Heavily influenced by diverse mediums such as: film (Michelangelo Antonioni, Chantal Akerman, Wong Kar-wai,), sociology (Jean Baudrillard), music (Henry Mancini), and poetry (Arthur Rimbaud), and painted in a neo-classical style with a surrealist approach, Ching-Yuk Ng’s works explore the theme of intimacy amongst herself and others. The figures in the paintings desire this intimacy as they search for personal freedom, and explore their desire and love with both themselves and others.
