Biography

Canadian born, London based Michele Fletcher’s paintings are a commentary on the tension between human progress and the natural world, and how this relationship is strained and evolving. Both prophetic and profound in subjectivity, Fletcher’s works transcend this volatile dynamic to create harmonious flowing paintings. Her work is done in a single sitting with layer upon layer adding gestural physicality to her lyrical landscape works, where this gesture is the only evidence of human interaction.

Most recently, Fletcher’s work were exhibited in a solo exhibition at White Cube, Hong Kong (2025). Her works adorn the collections of the Isaac Newton Institute of University of Cambridge, KOKO in Camden, University of the Arts, Ernst & Young Collection, Soho House, Bart’s Hospital, Groucho Club and numerous private collections.
