Kasper Sonne
b. 1974

Biography
Kasper Sonne is a Danish Artist (b. 1974, Copenhagen) who lives and works in New York, USA. With a BA at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture, Design and Conservation, Kasper Sonne work revolves around conceptual thoughts and examples of divergent trends, and imbued with a sense of poetics, melancholia and doubt.
Sonne explores how individual and cultural references influence the way we read the world around us, and how meaning is determined by the viewer’s own active construction. Believing in the idea dictating the medium rather than the other way around, Sonne works against process-based abstraction and more illusory dichotomies, creating while destroying.
