Biography

Edward Hongyi JIA (b. 1996) is a London based multidisciplinary artist. He obtained his MA in painting at the Royal College of Art and his BA from the University of the Art London in Fine Art. Awards include: “RISING STARS 2021” and RBA Rome and RBA Rome Scholarship semi-finalist. Selected collections include British Museum, Bulgarian Embassy, Horniman Museum & Gardens, Burgh House Hampstead Museum.

Exhibitions

Ronchini is proud to host ZONE, the first UK solo exhibition of Chinese, British based artist Edward Hongyi JIA. With a predominance of green shades and an intentionally impressionistic styled brushwork, Hongyi JIA shows a sophisticated approach towards exploring the relationship between humans, nature, and technology. These subversive landscapes physically engulf the viewer with their dominating size, presenting an intricate and paradoxical conflict within our perception of the artificial and the natural.
