Alighiero Boetti



Alighiero Boetti was born in Turin in 1994. He was an Italian conceptual artist, considered to be a member of the art movement Arte Povera. Boetti created works out of then unusual materials such as plaster, masonite, plexiglass, light fixtures and other industrial materials. He is best known for his series of large embroidered maps of the world, called Mappa.
